NICU & Special Needs

Sometimes life throws you a curve-ball. Having a newborn, or multiples, in the Special Care unit needing additional medical support is definitely one of those times. It’s may be difficult to plan for the additional challenges or to see the road ahead clearly. Here’s how I can help:

-  I offer my postpartum services modified to meet the specific logistics required for an Intensive Care Nursery stay.  Here are more details on these services.

-  Child care and/or safe transportation for older child(ren) to school or other care options; in-home care, overnight stays, play time outside of the hospital, meals & meal planning for siblings

- Fresh meals, meal planning, delivery to hospital. Freezer meal prep for homecoming.

- Emotional support and professional referrals for clinical services and community support groups.

- Errands and household/life organization to-do’s and pet care support.

- Empower clients’ in self-advocating for clear communication with Medical care providers and hospital staff. Help with navigating procedural issues and to-do’s with hospital and insurance.

-Offer relevant, evidence-based education resources for understanding your newborn’s clinical care and specific conditions, as requested.
